Under Construction.

Will be complete by 4/8/2021

Carol lends her years of sewing experience, bridal shop professional alteration experience, and special occasion private sewing to altering, repairing and

re-furbishing formal wear such as:

Wedding Apparel:

Wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, mother-of-the bride or groom.

Formal Wear Apparel:

Evening gowns, prom dresses, pageant gowns.

Formal Wear Alteration Services may include, but not limited to:

Taking up the shoulder seams, skirt or sleeve shortening, taking in side seams, shortening straps, adding adornments such as lace, beads, rhinestones, bows, ribbons, overlays, re-styling a garment or parts of the garment, replacement of zippers or buttons, enlarging garments, lengthening of dresses, adding sleeves, adding corset back to enlarge or enhance dress.

Fees: Minimum fee $75.00 Depending on the complexity of alteration(s) needed for the garment, fees may range from $75.00 for hemming, up to $600.00 to refurbish and/or repair a wedding dress.

Wedding dress hemming and bustling (train hook-up) fee is a minimum, of $165.00, if there are no additional alterations to be done to the dress.

Add a Corset Back (only) to any dress is $185.00 Cost of materials needed (such as fabric, lace, beads, etc) to perform alterations are NOT included in the alteration labor costs.

Alteration Price Estimate Policy:

Phone, email, text, or YELP requests for formal/wedding dress alteration prices estimates cannot be granted. Formal wear is much too complex and inconsistent in construction to simply guess the cost of alterations without seeing the garment in person, on the person. Here are some of the factors that determine alteration costs: Style of dress, circumference of hem, number of layers, closed lining or open lining, lace or no lace, beads or no beads, sleeves or no sleeves, lace edging on hem, etc.

Alteration price estimates can only be granted in person, for a fee of $25. If you then choose to hire My Sewing Room to do the alterations, the entire $25 will be applied as credit to the determined overall alteration cost. With regret, Carol chooses to limit her alteration talent to wedding/formal and special occasion wear, only. Tailoring, men's wear alterations and general repairs or alterations are not within Carol's scope of interest, nor time availability. So sorry.
